I’m getting out of class early to go to court for a speeding ticket of 19 MPH over the speed limit. They said I could just pay the 175$ and not go to court but I am anyways. How does the process work? I plan to just plead guilty saying I’m new to the state (because it was my second day here in Virginia for college). How should I go about this? What is the process like at traffic court? Can someone walk me through it? Thanks!

Inspired by a recent conversation I overheard.

Say you’re driving. Slow, under the speed limit. There’s a crosswalk, you see, but no one’s around to cross. Then, unexpectedly, a person jumps out into the crosswalk and you, who hadn’t anticipated this, hadn’t enough time to slow down and hit the pedestrian.

Who’s fault is it if a pedestrian jumps out into a crosswalk unexpectedly and gets hit?

Simply, does receiving a speeding ticket from a photo radar in your mail for going 15-17 mph above the speed limit add points to your license?
Only on the highway… haha.

Heres the deal: I was speeding, no denying that. I was passing a car 70mph (on speed limit of 70) and while I was passing the car it switch over to 55mph, and the cop was right at the sign.

I am a 21 year old college student, and also work full time. I have no problem with paying the fine, however I cant afford having my insurance going up.So I was talking with my dad and he told me to go to traffic court and request driving school.

I have NO idea what to do when I go to court. Do I plea guilty? What do I tell the judge? Will they allow me to go to driving school? Wil there be a prosecuter? I live in Kentucky, but got the ticket in Tennessee, and this is my first driving offense.

The speed limit in the school zone was 25 miles per hour. I was caught by the cop going 46. How much is the ticket going to be? Is it double a normal speeding ticket or more?

I am a semi truck driver. These trucks can be dangerous if you don’t know how they work. ie.. they are heavy & therefore it takes lots more time to stop a semi than a automobile. There are "blind spots". "Blind spots" are places like directly in front of us, beside us and behind us that we cannot see even with our mirrors. Other vehicles in these "blind spots" are putting themselves and others at safety risk. Semi trucks also need tons of room to make turns so we make WIDE turns and then we get some other vehicle come up beside us while making this turn and this results in an accident. Drivers of semi trucks must follow Federal Rules that the public is not made aware. The public also does not seem to see the signs on roadsides that say things like "Trucks use 2 right lanes" or in a construction area a sign says "Trucks use left lane only" or the split speed limit for trucks and cars.. ie.. speed limit 65mph trucks 55mph. That split speed causes impatience with drivers of automobiles
THE QUESTION IS HOW DO WE INFORM THE PUBLIC REGARDING THIS MATTER

This is BS…but i got my 3rd ticket…and all 3 have been wreckless driving..clocked in at 92, 96, and now 92 again…i took driving school 2 times already.and passed it easily…im a very safe driver..but my damn new sports car can go over 100 smoothly, and it feels like 75…and when the highway gets free…i love to speed up when no cars are around..but i fall into a speed trap each time. I also got a 2nd ticket for expired state tags w/ my 3rd wreckless driving ticket.

My friend said the Judge could give me jail time….does anyone have a similar experience? what happened?
Im from Virginia..and the speed limit was 65. anything over 80 is considered wreckless.
