Ok so dec 2007 i got the speeding 50 over charge. In ontario its considered stunt driving. I just got convincted yesterday to a charge of 49 over and 4 demerit points. My lawyer informd me that my points get erased from my drivers abstract 2 years after the offence date. That will be this december.

My question is…

1. the insurance wont find out that i have this on my record unless they look at it right? How often do companies do this?

2. if i make it to december without my insurance going up, and my points get erased from my drivers abstract is there someway the insurance company can still find out and shoot my insurance up?

Thank you 10 easy points for best answer. Someone who works in insurance perferably.
No in ontario you accumulate points. I dont want to contact my insurance company becuase it will give them a heads up to look into my file. And i dont want that. In ontario your demerit points come off 2 years after the OFFENCE date. Not conviction.

DWI in New Jersey– reality, not exact law?

I know I can look up all of the charges etc, but with a lawyer it is always different for everyone I am thinking.

This person blew a .23 and is 20 years old, DWI and Wreckless ticket. Did not hit anything or cause any damage.

-How long can said person lose their license for? Many people say "1 year" or "until your 21" as common knowledge, but what is the reality, I’ve heard anywhere from 2-6 months, I guess depending on the lawyer, right?

I got a speeding ticket the other day for 50 in a 35. I dont really know if I was speeding but I did just come off the highway and it is most likely accurate. I thought I was being pulled for no seatbelt but he didnt mention that.

When he brought me the ticket back there was a huge mistake that he did not notice. I was driving a totally different vehicle than what is on the ticket. The ticket says I was driving my 92 Ford Ranger and I was actually in a 2007 Nissan Frontier. It was a mixup from trying to transfer tags when I bought it… but he didnt notice.

Does anyone know from experience, real reasons that a speeding ticket can be dropped in court w/o hiring a lawyer.

If you only want to tell me to not speed in the first place… save your time and dont respond. I only want real answers here.

Thanks… leadfoot

DWI information?

This past weekend I was arrested for driving while intoxicated. I need as much information as possible on what to do? What happens if I do not hire a lawyer? You see I don’t have that kind of money to hire a lawyer. I live here in Texas and a down payment is 0.00 to 00.00. I know it may be a little to some people but thats a whole lot to me. Then I heard that most lawyers want all the money before the case. I know that also I will get a surcharge which is about a 00.00 every year for the next 3 years. That is about the same amount of money for a lawyer. So, basically what I am worried about if there is even a point for me to get a lawyer because then I just might be paying twice as much? I don’t know I’m just so confused what to do, I don’t know what to do, I have no type of knowledge what so ever on this. I am so lost, so if anyone can please help me! I would appreciate it a whole lot. O by the way I am twenty years old….so yeah…I know I got it in for me and I deserve it
I know I deserve this and I do repent and I know not to do this ever again. I made a huge mistake and I’m just lucky that I didnt’ get into a crash and end up killing myself or someone else. I still feel that I deserve a second chance because I know I will NOT do this again.
ya guys thanks for reminding me that it was stupid…Guess what I KNOW THAT NOW! K! I dont need you to judge me just asking for some advice and suggestions ok! THANKS

at a light intersection in Texas. He was driving the car and his friend was in the passenger seat wearing no seat belt. My son was driving while intoxicated wearing his seat belt. His friend was also intoxicated of alcohol plus drugs. His friend was a force of distraction while my son was driving. His friend was also not wearing his seat belt. The state of Texas is now trying to put this charge called Assault of Intoxication/ Severe Bodily Injury. I assume its because of the passenger his friend, medical condition.
I know I need to hire a lawyer.
Anyone please give me advice on what else to do and what can help my son!

Drunk driving laws?

I have been doing some research.
I know that you have heard about people being convicted multiple times of drunk driving. Do you know that 17,000 people are killed and 500,000 people are injured. every year by drunk drivers.
The only time these drivers go to jail is when they kill someone.
If they are convicted, of simply injuring someone, all that happens is their license is suspended. So next time they drink and drive, they do it without a license.
If caught, they get a conviction of driving without a license, and dwi, then released.
As a former EMT, I would get very irritated when running a drunk driving accidents, and the drunk driver would be out walking around, and I would have to treat innocent people, even kids that this driver struck. The police would do their sobriety tests, and arrest them for dwi/dui Then a few weeks later, the same incident, with the same person.
Can someone explain to me why, a person has to be killed to put theses people in jail?
.
I know the prisons, and jails are overcrowded. But there has to be a solution to this problem.
Any comments ideas welcome.
Any law enforcement, lawyers, and judge’s etrc. that can explain why people can be convicted over, and over of DWI,dui etc. and put back on the road?
Please feel free to e-mail me.
I am not really looking for an "answer". I want to know what others think. I would love a judge, lawyer etc. explain this.
I posted this in the law section.
Buy I only got 4 answers.
hopeing for more opinions.

If I am not in or near or at any risk of operating a motor vehicle, is there still a risk of losing my license for refusing a breathalyzer? Some state laws are worded as to provide suspensions in cases of a suspected DUI, but may not necessarily mean a refusal in any other case. Or is this one of those whoever has the more expensive lawyer arguements?
