Hey Everyone quick question. Let me know if i followed the right procedure also please.
I mailed out my resume to a potential employer on a saturday, and then followed up with a phone call 3 business days later (seeing as everyone was off on the fourth of July). I got a response about 3 hours later which was almost in a way like a phone interview. They then asked if i could schedule to meet with them this coming wed, i said yes naturally. Is this more less an interview? Or kind of saying that i have the job? This is because they are asking me to bring certain things that you would after you are hired. Things like, 2 forms of id, driver’s abstract, and also asking me to fill out an application. Its encouraging but also a little confusing? Help me out. Thanks

I was sitting at a red light and got rear ended by a drunk driver at approx 35 mph. I was wearing a safety belt. I was taken to hospital, and he was taken straight to jail for his 4th DWI conviction. I suffered the normal whiplash injuries, but also herniated and ripped a disk in my lower back that was not preexisting. My insurance company had me evaluated by their MD, and he concurred it was not prexisting. I have a personal injury lawyer who seems quite professional. I live in New York State which means all of my medical bills have been paid via no-fault insurance. However I’d like to get a large recovery mainly because i am so mad that he is a 44 year old man, and hitting me gave him his 4th dwi. I also had my job filled because I was out for so long healing. I used to be an emergency nurse for the government. Does anyone think i will get a good recovery despite having all medical bills paid by no-fault. My lawyer seems quite confident, but I have a bad feeling i’m not "hurt enough". Thanks everyone.
I forgot to mention that I haven’t received any insurance payout from his company. My attorney is demanding a settlement amount from his insurance company. His insurance company has not offered me anything as of yet.

I applied for a job and got a call back asking me to meet for an interveiw and they said my resume is awesome but then they asked me for a drivers abstract because from time to time i may need to make a delivery but the thing is i have a bad driving record. I had my license suspended 2 years ago due to a DUI…what do i do now? Should i even bother with the job or will that not determine if i get it or not?

I recently found out that I have some traffic violations on my driving record that do not belong to me. I have gone to the local court house, the police station, and the DMV but all I’m getting is the run around. This has cost me a job that I am sure would have been mine if it weren’t for these false traffic violations. Can any one please guide me in the right direction? If it matters any, I live in Georgia.

My boss sais he cant afford to have me under his car insurance because of this dwi so he has to let me go. He also said I cannot collect because it was my fault. Is this true? I had this job for about 2 years.

I moved out of the US recently and tried to apply for a job. My background check didn’t clear due to something that WAS on my record in the past. I’ve called DMV, the courthouse and franchise and they all have said that my record is cleared. Which I did clear it. I had to pay up. How can I go about trying to clear my name?

My sister is a good person who made a mistake. She has 3 children a job and is planning to finish college. She is 26 years old. Would the judge consider your great background in a DUI case. If you never had any priors or no one was injured. She had 3 drinks and was arrested after a car ran into the back of her. She side swiped another car and didnt notice until after she was arrested. How much would your BAC be if you had 3 Mixed drinks (not straight liquor) If they took your blood 4 hours later and there was no breathalyzer. She fell asleep in her cell and they transported her to the hospital. She had just gotten off of work and was sleepy behind the wheel. She also ate a burger and fries while consuming the drinks would this affect anything ?

I’ve got about 30-40 hours so far of community service I’ve done as a Sheriff Explorer. Most of it involved standing at booths, directing traffic, providing information, interacting with the public, etc. How do I make this sound better on a job resume and college applications?
I mean a mediocre Mcdonalds job or something.

The employee is sometimes required to drive for the job, however, they must provide their own vehicle and insurance. The employee was not told that the record was being accessed, and later, was not told why. The employer discovered that the employee’s driver’s license was suspended for failure to appear on a traffic violation. The employer then told the employee that they could not remove their vehicle from the premises, or they were subject to arrest.
Any assistance from a dmv employee or law enforcement or legal is greatly appreciated.
I quess I should add that this employee is the only person in the office whose record was pulled. There were no accidents or incidents that normally might have triggered such an inquiry. Employee is concerned that the act was in retaliation for an unrelated incident.
Thank you, Justgetitright.
The license has now been corrected. My concern is why the record was accessed. Our company is not a law enforcement agency, and has to make special requests to obtain that kind of access. That is unless, someone calls in a favor, but I still thought that the CA DMV requires the consent of the driver.
