I was hit from behind by an uninsured motorist and I filed a claim on my own auto policy under the uninsured motorist coverage. I do not have an attorney at this point, and I don’t know what to expect. My medical treatment is almost over and I will be ready to settle the claim soon.

I’ve got Liability and Uninsured motorist insurance policy for my car and need to know what exactly is "uninsured motorist" coverage? I know liability coverage is that which will pay for our fault in an accident, but what uninsured coverage does?

I crashed and totalled my car a few months ago at my fault. There were two other passengers in my car and with no other cars involved. One of the passenger’s medical expenses, pain and suffering, loss of wages, etc., exceeds my liability limits and they have no insurance of their own. Can they access my underinsured/uninsured motorist coverage if it exceeds my liability?

In NY, from which state we’ve just moved you did not have to choose between stacked and unstacked uninsured motorist coverage. I’m not sure which is a better option.

I was hit in April by an uninsured motorist; he totalled both our cars. I have since seen 8 doctors to diagnose several issues caused by the accident. I’ve undergone xrays, physical therapy, ultrasounds, blood tests and an MRI, and am now on medication and more phys therapy.
I had k in uninsured motorist medical coverage, which my ridiculous claim adjuster told me last week ran out over a month ago – I’m now getting bills I can’t afford, and I’m not yet well. A friend said I can demand more $ from my insurance company? But he also said Colorado requires insurance companies to cover all med bills, and I’ve found no such statement on the CO govt sites.
My regular health insurance won’t cover these bills – what do I do?
Was also told attornies won’t take my case: the kid who hit me is likely illegal, has been unresponsive. One lawyer said even if I won the case, wouldn’t necessary get $ out of it. Last thing I need are lawyer bills.

I had a 2000 Neon and sold this car back in 2008, I had signed a form waiving uninsured motorist with State Farm. After selling my 2000, I purchased a 99 Neon and added it to my State Farm policy. Would the uninsured motorist form waiving my coverage follow from my 2000 to my 1999 neon?

Me and my daughter were in an accident that was a hit and run. We have medical bills for totaling about ,000. My insurance company already said that I qualify for an uninsured motorist claim. Now my question is…Will I get that entire amount back under my uninsured motorist claim or will I get a percentage?

California: My friend was involved in an accident with an uninsured motorist. The uninsured was at fault and stopped. My friend gathered some information (Name, address, drivers license, license plate, and phone number). However, the uninsured motorist isn’t answering her phone and is not reachable. Property damages incurred to my friend’s car amounts to a thousand dollars.
My question is: What should my friend have done in this situation in the future? Should she have called the police at the scene of the accident?

My medical expenses for a Florida accident were covered by my health care insurance. At the time they asked if i had any PIP coverage, which I didn’t. Subsequently, I received some funds for uninsured motorist. Is this considered a PIP payment in a no fault state?
