Can I argue in traffic court if I am under 18?

I want to plead non-guilty for a traffic violation, but I am not yet 18. Am I allowed to do so, or do I need a parent to accompany me? Also, if my court date is after my 18th birthday, can I argue my case even though at the time of the incident I was 17?

Depends on your state but most likely no. If you turn 18 before your court date then yes, you may represent your self.
i think it’s best to plead guilty.
see how they sort it owt etc… and they’ll prob let u off a little since u wern’t 18 at the tym…
In most places, yes. However, I have never known anybody to beat a traffic ticket. NoLo contindre may be an option. (It’s a legal term that means no contest in Latin). Another option may be to speak to the solicitor (prosecutor) and see if they will reduce the charges.
