Father lives out of state, is settled, married and has maintained the same employment for several years. Custodial mother is alcoholic, been arrested recently for DWI(s) and cannot maintain a stable home. Child has lived with grandmother for the past 3 years. Mother has now joined her there (@ grandparents) with her newest baby. 14 (in August) year old child wants to live with Dad. Dad wants custody but cannot readily afford the high retainer fee required by the attorney that he contacted. Is there anything this father and daughter can do without an attorney?

I have a very dear friend who is going through a trying situation. He received a felony conviction 5+ years ago for aggravated DWI accident. I don’t know the exact name of the charge. Basically, he was intoxicated and ran into a building. No one was hurt, but the situation could have been much worse. The judge threw the book at him with the felony. He had no previous incidents and hasn’t had any since. He is a good guy that did something stupid. Anyway, he’s got college degrees, served our country for 8 years (40% disabled vet) and has worked as a civilian on a military base for several years. He is being encouraged by his superiors (who don’t know about the felony) to apply for a government position. He is doubtful that he’d even be considered at all for the position. Has anyone ever been in a similar situation? What is out there for him? What doors could still be open? Any experience? Advice?

I would like to know if a speeding fine is invalid 6 months after the offense or whether it is 6 months after the last letter, or even whether this is true!

My boyfriend has had it in his truck for as long if not longer then the court order and he is ready to get it out. We called the MVD and they keep us on hold and never answer back, so we are trying to figure it out on our own. I could use all the help I can get to figure this out thanks
He doesn’t have a probation officer or anything like that. He would have to go in every month the check it at the MVD and that was it nothing else.

I want to apply to be an FWC officer but I am wondering what constitutes a good driving record as it is one of the requirements. I got a speeding ticket in feburary. I took the class and paid the fine. The last speeding ticket I got was about 3 years ago. Will my driving history disqualify me?
