There’s been a recent debate about lowering the drinking age, similar to right after vietnam. People who agree that it should be lowered have a good argument; Fighting and dying for thier country, voting, working, raising kids. People who defend the age state that it makes the roads safer ( An argument that is irrational because 18 and 21 year olds are held to the same criminal responsibility). Every time people think about the debate it’s defended with drunk driving stats and deaths. I’m from Detroit, a city that suffers around 400 homicides every year from gun violence. Many people in the inner cities fight for much stricter gun laws, with the NRA fighting with "It’s our right to have guns". If we can’t stop people from getting killed from guns because of the NRA, doesn’t this prove the importance of personal freedoms. I’m also a strong believer that the law is counterproductive anyway because of the very real forbidden fruit syndrome. Freedom VS stability.

I have a DUI fine of 0 that I might not be able to cover by the time it’s due! Any suggestions?

They cannot hire anyone with a misdemeanor until 2 years after conviction. Its been over 2 years since my DWI which was reduced to "driving after illegally consuming alcohol" (given to persons under 21) which is also a misdemeanor.
They do a background check and are going to find this out anyways , so my questions are:
1. Do I have to write this down on the application?
The application asks you to "specify criminal charges. For all other answers, fill in the disposition/comments section"
2. I dont know if its considered a traffic or criminal violation?
3. I am afraid they will not hire me, I previously applied 1 year ago and they told me after I got the job that b/c the background had a misdemeanor I have to wait 2 years. Ive waited but I am nervous they wont want me anymore. Does this mean I have to pay for this every single time I apply for a job (i know i did something wrong but Ive learned and I dont want to still be paying for it years from now)

Yeah Ive heard that but this paticular job is working with highschool students so they have strict policies. On the application it asks that you specify any " criminal charges" which is confusing because I am not sure if mine is a criminal charge. I wasnt jailed, just suspended license and Alcohol classes.

If you are the age of 15 in the state of PA and eligible to get your permit in 2-3 weeks, but have received a citation for driving without a license, will you no longer be eligible to get your permit? And how long would you have to wait for your license?

My older brother recently bought a brand new car, and just two days ago the insurance he purchased from the dealership’s insurance company expired. He has liability insurance underneath a separate insurance company, but that has not expired. We were stopped for something minor the other day, and the police officer noticed my brother’s insurance was expired. What kind of fine will he face?

I got a DUI in 2008 some where around June and from what ive been hearing I should be able to get a CDL 3 years after the arrest. I now its hard to find a job driving a truck after getting a DUI but i got that covered. I just need to know when ill be able to try to get a CDL.

Hello, I was in a wreck on my motorcycle early December, I broke 4 fingers and ripped the skin seperating your chin from your mouth,So far my medical bills are 35k I have read multiple places that you normally get 3x medical bills ( I have a lawyer), does this really mean I’m looking at 105+ thousand dollars? I’m in North Carolina if that matters

I got in a wreck . I loss control of my veichle and flipped it. The cops kept asking me if i was drunk but I know I wasnt. I just had 3 beers which is pass the achool limit. They took me to the hospital and asked me again if i was drunk.And then took a blood sample, but they only gave me a ticket for careless operation. Can they are will they charge me with drinking and driving? if they already issued me a ticket? for carless operation and thats it? I mean I thought when you are drunk.and they catch you. You get arrested right there and then? please answer
